Addison
Addison spent at least two years of her life alone and without adequate care. She was living on a property a few miles from the sanctuary, and although we were aware of the neglect she was facing, we were unable to secure her surrender for quite some time.
However, one day we received a call from concerned neighbors, who said they hadn’t seen any humans on the property in a while. When we arrived, we found that Addison was still there, underweight and tethered to a tree, without protection from predators or the elements. The neighbors had been bringing her water each day to keep her alive.
We called the sheriff’s department to request a welfare check on Addison. After the deputy assessed the situation, we were granted the go-ahead to take Addison into our care. We were incredibly relieved, and so was Addison!
Despite her neglectful past, Addison is nothing short of social, loving, and incredibly sweet. She prefers human friends to goat friends and loves a good treat (or a few)! From now on, Addison will be surrounded by love and companionship, receive regular vet care, and always have plenty of food in her belly. She is free to wander and explore throughout the pasture and will never be tethered again.
