Isaac

If you met Isaac at IFS without knowing his story, you would have never guessed he was born with severe contractures in his front legs, which caused them to be locked in a deeply bent position. Isaac was still able to stand up and walk around, but his weight was falling on his “wrists,” rather than his hooves, which was not ideal for his welfare.

Thankfully, Isaac came to us when he was just a baby, and we rushed him to our large animal hospital for evaluation. After a thorough examination by his care team, it was determined that the contractures in Isaac’s front legs could be corrected with splinting! Sweet little Isaac wore his splints for several months, and his front legs steadily straightened over time. The results were astonishing!

Isaac was such a special individual that he was so well known to everyone who visited the sanctuary while he was with us. We miss him so much, but we also cherish his many Sundays getting treats from visitors, and his final years, during which he spent his days with the big herd, exploring all of the joys of sanctuary life.
