Stella
Stella was our only rescued pot-bellied pig. Before she arrived at Iowa Farm Sanctuary, she was purchased by a college student who thought she would be a good apartment companion. Pot-bellied pigs are often abandoned by humans who haven’t done the proper research to accommodate them as they grow from tiny piglets, and this is how Stella came to live at Iowa Farm Sanctuary. Stella spent her days building and upgrading the perfect nest for napping, reminding the other residents who was in charge, and happily accepting treats from our visitors. Stella was one of the first rescues after the sanctuary was established. She was such a special girl, and we will miss her always. The barn will never be the same without her.
