Steve started his life as a commodity. He was bred into this world with the intention of becoming someone's dinner. He was even shipped off to a “meat locker,” but his life was spared by a compassionate groundskeeper. Steve came to live with us with his best friend Rob Zombie, after Rob was attacked by a coyote. Once at the sanctuary, Steve spent his days surrounded by friends and lots of love, and his quiet dignity was always an inspiration. He shared a very special, lifelong bond with Rob; the two were never very far from each other. Steve was named after a brave and heroic character from Stranger Things by one of our biggest supporters. He will be greatly missed by Rob and so many others.
